Support Southbury Helping Hands During Give Local! April 21-22, 2026
Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills is a 36-hour fundraising campaign that will take place between 7:00 am on Tuesday, April 21st and 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22nd. During Give Local, every dollar you contribute to local nonprofits like Southbury Helping Hands will be boosted with bonus funds, thanks to generous sponsors and the Connecticut Community Foundation – making the impact of your giving even bigger.
While best known for its coordination of the Annual Holiday Gift Program, Southbury Helping Hands also provides financial assistance to families year-round. In 2025, $23,000 of our budget was spent on utility bills, insurance, rent/mortgage, car repairs, appliance replacement, and other emergency household repairs for Southbury residents facing extraordinary financial hardship. In July & August, $5,000 went toward new back-to-school shoes for 98 children, the majority of which were enrolled in middle school or high school. Throughout the year we purchased bundles of gas cards for the Southbury Department of Social Services and local churches to distribute to residents in need.
